Brooke Goodnight-Basa is a devoted wife, a proud alumna of the University of Nevada, Reno, and a follower of Christ. Her journey to founding A2B began when she was a teenager and continues to be shaped by her deep empathy for those facing hardship.

The idea for A2B sparked during an unexpected moment of connection. As a young teenager, Brooke was sitting on the rooftop of an abandoned warehouse with friends who discouraged her from interacting with a homeless couple nearby. However, driven by her love for others and a sense of responsibility, she couldn’t ignore the opportunity to engage. She spoke with the couple and their beloved dog about their hardships and lives, and that conversation left a lasting impact on her heart. It opened her eyes to the daily struggles homeless individuals face, and from that day on, she became acutely aware of their challenges.

Brooke has always believed that blessings come with a responsibility to give back. She carries a deep passion for serving others and saw a need to create something that would make a tangible difference. This led to the birth of A2B, an organization with the mission to provide a helping hand to those in need, offering support to individuals in Northern Nevada who just need a bridge from Step A to Step B—whether it’s overcoming homelessness, re-entering society after incarceration, or transitioning from foster care.

Through A2B, Brooke is committed to empowering individuals and helping them create a path to a better future, one step at a time.
